Healing During Christian Science Nurses Training

Jan ScottChristian Science nursing blesses all involved, including the nurse—this fact often becomes evident the moment an individual answers the call to become a Christian Science nurse.  Jan Scott, from Lagunitas, California, shares a couple of healings she experienced while completing the Christian Science Nursing Arts I class at Arden Wood.

I am so privileged to be in the Christian Science Nursing Arts Training at Arden Wood; I am enjoying every minute of it.  There is so much to learn!  During my first two weeks I was faced with physical challenges and am happy to report both were met quickly through prayer and inspiration.  Arden Wood is a very holy place—it has an atmosphere of peace and calm, and this helped me feel included in the collective prayers of everyone connected with this place.

There are so many dedicated Christian Scientists here, daily affirming the truth and living lives that express the grace and healing power of the Christ.  I was thinking about this when I prayed to overcome the belief of a cold.  Before class each morning, we took turns doing the readings and that morning I felt so comforted and inspired by what I heard—the passages were read with such love and understanding that I forgot about my discomfort and soon realized I was completely free.

A few days later I felt very unwell with the belief of headache.  It came to me that this was just an aggressive suggestion that was trying to prevent me from proceeding with my training.  I really did not want to miss a minute and so was quick to defend myself by declaring that God’s power and presence precluded anything unlike good.  Because this training is a God-directed activity, God gives us everything we need to be successful.  I knew that error could not prevent me from being in my right place.  I rejoiced in the truth that all was well.  The symptoms quickly dissipated and I felt great.

I am very grateful for these proofs of God’s presence.
