Recent Healings

A potential Arden Wood resident came for a two-week trial visit, and was invitedResidents enjoying dahlias at Golden Gate Park by some of our residents to walk to the neighborhood shopping area. The guest declined, and admitted that for some time she had not been able to walk that distance. About two months after becoming a resident, this same individual told the Director of Residential Services that she was joining fellow residents to walk to the nearest shopping mall—a much longer distance than our neighborhood shopping area. Confirming her ability to make that walk, she beamed and said that since living here and having wonderful study time, she has had a complete healing and is able to walk freely for any distance.

Another resident came to Arden Wood thinking her house was sold, and then received news that there was a problem with the sale. This individual took a strong stand in trusting God, knowing that nothing could interrupt the unfoldment of a right idea. Within a day, all problems had dissolved and the sale went through.

Christmastime and Ragtime Music in the Chapel

The annual Christmas Concert at Arden Wood was a cheerful and joyous musical presentation by mezzo-soprano Dana Anderson, organist and pianist Michael Moran, and fellow singers performing selections from the Christmas repertoire, including solo Christmas arias, plus a sing-along of favorite hymns and carols. In addition to the joy of singing together, many guests enjoyed a special holiday meal prior to the concert and a friendly reception afterward.  If you like to mark your calendars early, we are planning this year’s concert for Sunday, December 11, 2011.

Stephanie Trick in the ChapelAward-winning pianist Stephanie Trick recently treated Arden Wood residents, associates, and guests to a ragtime and stride piano concert.  Stephanie stopped by for a visit on her way to the 24th Annual West Coast Ragtime Festival in Sacramento, and were we delighted! She completely dazzled and uplifted everyone with her skillful and joyful playing.  She performed hits by piano greats Eubie Blake, Fats Waller, Scott Joplin, James P. Johnson, and others for over an hour without music and without missing a note.  Concert guests were especially moved by Stephanie’s own composition, “Blues for Alphie,” an expressive piece written for her childhood pet rabbit. To learn more about Stephanie and listen to clips of her music, go to www.stephanietrick.com. You’ll be glad you did!
