Christian Science Nurses Training

TRAINING IN THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE NURSING ARTS PROGRAM

The standard for Christian Science nursing is established by Mary Baker Eddy in the Church Manual By-Law (Article VIII, Sect. 31):

“Christian Science Nurse. Sect. 31.  A member of The Mother Church who represents himself or herself as a Christian Science nurse shall be one who has a demonstrable knowledge of Christian Science practice, who thoroughly understands the practical wisdom necessary in a sick room, and who can take proper care of the sick.
“The cards of such persons may be inserted in The Christian Science Journal under rules established by the publishers.”

Christian Science Nurses Training at Arden WoodArden Wood offers Christian Science Nursing Arts I & II (the Introductory and the Basic Nursing Arts) classroom training onsite for nurses on our staff.

Nurses advancing to Christian Science Nursing Arts III & IV (the Advanced and the Supervisory Nursing Arts) take the classroom portion of the class at Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association (CHBA), returning to Arden Wood for their on-the-job training.

Completion of the four Christian Science Nursing Arts courses is very individual.  The entire course of instruction takes a minimum of three and a half years to complete.

The following are courses included in a complete Christian Science Nurses Training Program for those representing themselves as Christian Science nurses:

Nursing Arts I (Introductory Christian Science Nursing Arts) Held at Arden Wood
