If I needed nursing care, how would I be admitted to Arden Wood?

There is an application process for admission to Arden Wood. The main requirements are that an individual is relying exclusively on Christian Science for healing and receiving ongoing treatment and attention from a Christian Science practitioner who is listed in The Christian Science Journal.

To apply for admission between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., please call the Director of Nursing Services at (415) 379-2224.

At other times, please call (415) 379-2215 and the nursing supervisor on duty will directly answer your call.

At this time, applications are not accepted over the Internet.

Does insurance cover Christian Science nursing?

Some companies do provide coverage for Christian Science nursing treatment or nursing care. These companies have individual policies that can be attached to one's insurance package. Individuals should contact their insurance agent to find out if their company specifically offers this type of coverage.

Is Medicare coverage available?

Arden Wood began accepting Medicare for eligible patients for Christian Science nursing services in July 2004. Information helpful to Christian Scientists considering use of Medicare for reimbursement of Christian Science nursing care is available upon request online or from Arden Wood's business office.
