There are many ways of supporting the healing mission of Arden Wood. Volunteers provide a valuable resource to our community and serve in numerous ways in support of our many healing activities. Volunteers are active members of The Mother Church and are expected to conduct themselves in a manner supportive of the mission of Arden Wood and abide by its policies.

Volunteering might include reading to our nursing patients, working in our maintenance area, garden, library, and other areas. Acting as an Arden Wood volunteer provides a mutual benefit and blessing both to our facility and to the volunteer. By supporting the work of Arden Wood and availing oneself of the various resources that exist to support our Christian Science community, we can offer more services and activities for our patients, residents and guests. And as Arden Wood's needs change at different times, our volunteer requirements may change accordingly.

Currently, our volunteer program needs people from the local community who can make a minimum monthly time commitment of four (4) hours. This program would include volunteers who live in the San Francisco Bay area who would like to give volunteer time as they are able. In support of their contribution, volunteers may receive one meal for each four-hour shift worked and some travel reimbursement if applicable. Volunteer opportunities also exist for high school and college students who may wish to volunteer on summer or winter breaks.
