It’s open 24/7 to visitors. You can look out over the pretty San Francisco urban hillside while sitting in a comfy chair in the delightful sunroom. And it’s a special treat if it’s raining because you have the pitter patter of the rain making it even more cozy.
The collection was donated by Bible scholar and teacher Dr. Laura Pleming Yocum.
It’s adjacent to the Arden Wood Study Room that has everything you would find in a Christian Science Reading Room, including more comfy chairs and a pretty view outside the elegantly adorned bay windows.
We add new reads to the collection now and then to help keep up with some of the most recent Bible research and archeological finds.
There is a range of topics. Some go into depth about the scrolls found in at the Dead Sea. Others give unusual insights into the making of the King James Bible. Others answer questions about the life of women in Bible times. We also have a lot of rare books that can no longer be found.
We have a monthly Saturday morning book group that shares excerpts of one of the 1500+ collection of Bible resource books.
A volunteer (Edna) researches articles and books that relate to the weekly Bible Lesson and puts them out each week.
